A recording consultation at Barron Studios

Practice, Arrangement, & Pre-Production

This is where you get your ducks in a row. If you answer, "How's your part go at the bridge?" with, "Umm...something like this?". Then you need to practice. If you don't know what tempos your different song sections are, it's time for a rhythm section meeting. This is when you replace and brake in new strings, drum heads, or get that pesky neck alignment checked out. Once you have all of this squared away, it's time for step 2.

U87 and Royer will make your amp sing

Recording

This is when it all happens. All the time and energy spent writing and arranging your songs can evaporate without capturing the right performance and the right sound at the source. If you aren't in love with the sound of that snare drum or guitar amp, don't expect it to sound different in the studio. Just remember, there is no "fix it in the mix".

Barron Studios records, mixes and masters music.

Mixing & Mastering

So you've got your tracks laid down. They sound good, but now you want that final level of polish. Maybe you had a few "out there" ideas you had always wanted to hear. Well, it's now or never. This is not an engineer waving a magic wand and making it all better- this is you and your engineer side by side making sure that what you leaves with represents you and your art.
