Chris is afraid of cameras, but has incredible ears. This rare photo shows his jubilation after a U47 shootout Barron conducted this past July. Into his early 20’s Chris studied jazz trumpet and is superbly grounded in music fundamentals and theory. Artists love tracking with him. He drives better performances out them with classic lines like, “that was, um…ok. Now lets try it again in pitch a couple of times.” If you are looking for a passive engineer that allows mediocrity, this is not the studio for you.

Todd is a very bad singer. Despite this, Todd is skilled at directing artists how to create the sound they hear in their heads in the studio. How many vocal/guitar stacks do you need? How many harmonies or counter melodies? What should the bass line be and where? Todd’s musical expertise arises not from his mastery of any one instument, but from the assortment he can “sort of play.” So if you need direction, Todd can help. You just won’t want him to record onto your track.
