INSTRUMENT RECORDING
Recording or mixing instruments? You'll need to work with one of Barron's Senior Engineers. They have both the technical experience and musical knowledge to capture and mix the song in your head.
SMALL INSTRUMENT RECORDING
Small instruments are anything that can be recorded inside a vocal booth with one microphone.
Standard Senior Engineer rates apply.
YUKELALES, SAXAPHONES, CELLOS, DJIMBES, ETC
Yes. We record all of them. For most songs a simple single mic setup in one of our recording booths is perfect. But if you need a more elaborate setup, we offer that too for a tiny bit more.
ACOUSTIC GUITARS
Yep, we record them too. Most of the time a simple single microphone setup in the vocal booth is exactly what you need. But it you need more, see our Live Room add on rate.
LIVE ROOM INSTRUMENT RECORDING
Some instruments just require more than one microphone and more space than a vocal booth. That is why Barron has a spacious live room, lots of microphones. Use of this room adds $40/hr to your session.
DRUMS
Drums take time to set up for recording. Each drummer sets his kit different and therefore the recording is different. Plan on one full hour of drum setup and mic placement prior to recording. Yes, this counts as studio time. Any faster results end in crappy sounding drums. We're just not into that.
GUITARS
We dig big loud amplifiers. If you have a big loud amplifier bring it. Yep, you'll need the live room for this.
If not, let us use some of the most technologically advanced amp modeling available on the planet.
