Izzy Garza

Izzy, aka DJ Izzy Ill, is a senior engineer at Barron Studios in Houston, Texas. He is also known as an official ChopStar DJ and is co-founder of the musical crew The Astronavtz. Izzy Ill specializes in recording, mixing, and mastering, with a sharp attention to detail, song movement & structure. He draws inspiration from his early days of playing percussion, DJ’ing and the chopped & screwed style—a hallmark of Houston's hip-hop scene.

His engineering credits include collaborations with artists such as Key Glock, Jastin Martin, Pharrell, Timbaland, Nas, 2 Chainz, Tobe Nwigwe, KenTheMan, Dave East, Big K.R.I.T., Mike Jones, Paul Wall and BeatKing.

Beyond his work at Barron Studios, Izzy dj’s the local Houston bar scene, social events & weddings. He also offers chopped & screwed remixes utilizing authentic Technic vinyl turntables and Pro Tools for mastering.
